Consultation and Scan

We examine your mouth, take a scan, and walk you through the options that may be appropriate for your situation. Following your consultation, you will have a clearer picture of what treatment is being recommended, the estimated timeline, and the associated costs. Extraction and Bone Grafting, When Indicated

Not every patient requires an extraction or bone grafting. If a tooth needs to be removed, we may extract it and graft the site at the same time to help preserve the bone during healing. When bone grafting is part of the plan, we use only synthetic bone graft material, so no cadaver or animal bone is involved. Whether this step is needed depends on your individual situation.

Implant Placement

Implant placement is performed once the appropriate foundation is in place. Depending on the specifics of your case, placement may be performed through a small opening in the gums using our Fotona LightWalker laser, which in appropriate cases may reduce the need for sutures and minimize postoperative discomfort. The approach used is determined by what your case requires.

Healing and Integration

Following placement, the bone typically needs time to grow into the surface of the implant in a process called osseointegration. This period is generally around three months, though it can vary depending on the patient’s bone quality, health history, and other individual factors. Most patients are able to maintain their normal routine during this time, but individual experiences vary.

Abutment and Crown

Once integration is confirmed, the abutment is attached and the final crown is placed. The number of appointments and overall timeline at this stage depends on each patient’s individual case. When treatment is planned and completed at our office, all stages of care are managed in one location by Dr. Matt.

The cost of implant treatment varies from patient to patient depending on how many teeth are being replaced, whether grafting or additional procedures are needed, and the specifics of each individual case. For that reason, we provide a detailed cost estimate after your consultation rather than a general figure before we have evaluated your situation. Because each stage of treatment is performed in our office, we are able to manage the fee at every step. For single tooth replacement, our fee is generally kept in line with the cost of a three-unit bridge, though costs vary by case. Financing options through CareCredit and Lending Club may be available to help make treatment more manageable within your budget. Financing is subject to approval by the respective lender.
